WHEATON, IL – NuMed Rx, LLC today applauded the decision by State of Illinois regulators to award the medically-oriented group a license to dispense medical and infused cannabis products in Urbana.
“Suffering patients who desperately need access to medical cannabis products will finally have a place to go that is safe and health-oriented,” said Brett Walrod, Chief Operating Officer of NuMed Rx, LLC. “Our focus on providing compassionate care to patients while being an active and involved member of the community was the strength of NuMed’s approved application.”
Walrod noted that the keys to NuMed Rx’s application were the company’s links to various hospital and pharmacy groups in creating strict dispensing guidelines for medically-oriented cannabis products, strong support from local officials and state of the art security procedures that ensure the safety of patients, the dispensary and its surrounding area.
NuMed Rx officials said local benefits will include significant increase in wages and benefits above the prevailing standards in the region and are hopeful its dispensing facility will be up and operational as soon as Illinois produced medical products become available to the marketplace.
In addition to its Illinois-based leadership, Walrod noted that the NuMed Rx team includes significant professional experience in the medical cannabis industry, security consultants, pharmacists, university level researchers and other health care professionals.
The NuMed Rx location in Urbana will be located at 105 East University Avenue.
