nuEra team member Annie White in front of grow operation

Hello, nuEra family! Today, we’re excited to spotlight Annie White, our esteemed post-harvest director at nuEra.

Join us as we delve into the world of cannabis curing and cultivation, and get to know the passionate individual behind your favorite cannabis products.

How long have you been with nuEra and what do you oversee in cannabis cultivation?

Annie: I’ve proudly been part of the nuEra team for three years, dedicating myself to overseeing the dry cure process, trimming, third-party testing, and the creation of the final cannabis flower product. My focus is on all things flower at our cannabis cultivation facility!

You transitioned into the cannabis industry from radiology. How did that happen?

Annie: It was indeed a significant switch! Initially pursuing radiology, I joined nuEra amidst the COVID-19 pandemic. The health benefits and therapeutic potential of cannabis piqued my interest, and I’ve been deeply involved in cannabis cultivation ever since.

What makes nuEra stand out from other cannabis cultivators?

Annie: It’s all about quality over quantity. At nuEra, we meticulously monitor each stage from clone to cure, particularly emphasizing the critical cannabis dry curing process. This stage is crucial for enhancing potency, taste, and aroma of our cannabis flower products, and it’s where the true quality of our harvest is solidified.

Could you share insights about nuEra’s unique dry curing process?

Annie: Certainly! Our drying closets are carefully monitored to achieve an ideal moisture content of about 12%. Unlike many cultivators, we focus on both moisture content and water activity, ensuring our cannabis flower preserves its quality, shelf life, and terpene preservation, which are key to the final product’s aroma and flavor.

With nuEra developing its own strains, do you have a favorite?

Annie: Without a doubt, Cobra Milk. It’s a visually stunning, dark, purple, and frosty strain, with an incredible terpene profile, flavor, and aroma that epitomizes our dedication to quality cannabis cultivation.

For our readers, could you explain what terpenes are in cannabis?

Annie: Terpenes are aromatic compounds found in the trichomes of cannabis plants. They are responsible for the distinctive flavors, aromas, and effects of different cannabis strains. Proper curing is key to enhancing these qualities in our cannabis flower.

How has joining nuEra impacted the operations?

Annie: Joining the nuEra team has been a remarkable journey. We’ve integrated cutting-edge technology, automation, and a wealth of knowledge that continually enhances our cannabis cultivation processes and the quality of our final products.

What are you most passionate about in your role?

Annie: The art and science of the dry cure process. It’s a delicate balance that can make or break the quality of our cannabis harvest. Each batch presents new challenges, keeping my role exciting and dynamic.

What’s a common misconception about the cannabis industry you’d like to address?

Annie: A common misconception is that cannabis use is solely for recreational “highs.” However, many people use cannabis for medicinal purposes, from managing chronic conditions to relieving daily stress. Cannabis offers genuine health benefits beyond its recreational use.
