NuEra receives zoning approval in Fulton Market neighborhood

Chicago-based Cannabis company NuEra receives zoning approval for their application to open a new dispensary location in the Fulton Market neighborhood of Chicago.

CHICAGO ILLINOIS, SEPTEMBER 21ST, 2020. On Friday September 19th, NuEra (formerly NuMed) received approval for their zoning application at 1141 W. Randolph street in the Fulton Market area of the West Loop by a unanimous 5-0 vote by the Chicago Zoning Board of Appeals.

Their hearing at the ZBA was delayed by many months due to a backlog caused by the Coronavirus pandemic with NuEra finally making it onto the Agenda last Friday. With this step now secured, NuEra intends on opening at this site as soon as construction has been completed and all of the required permits have been obtained from the State.

NuEra is a veteran cannabis company in Illinois with three Medical/Adult Use dispensaries operating in Urbana, East Peoria, and at 1308 W. North Avenue near downtown Chicago.

  • Our long history of providing a safe and welcoming environment for Illinois Medical Patients plus our new adult use customers alike, makes NuEra extremely well positioned to deliver an extraordinary shopping experience that blends seamlessly into the neighborhood.

Robert Fitzsimmons CEO

All Illinois dispensaries operating before the State’s expansion into the 21+ market on January 1st of 2020 were given the right to apply for a secondary Adult Use only location. For locations in Chicago, a lottery was used to determine the zone in which they could apply and NuEra drew the Western District. NuEra spent the better part of 2020 working with various groups in the West Loop to determine which site in the neighborhood would be best suited for both the rising demand for its services and the betterment of the neighborhood itself.

NuEra is also Illinois newest producer of Cannabis based products with their recent acquisition of a cultivation center in North Central Illinois. They currently produce flower and pre-rolls in a variety of strains with corresponding effects such as pain relief, relaxation, focus, uplift, and more.

Welcome to a new era of cannabis.
