As we close out 2024, we’re reflecting on an incredible year of community connection, exciting events, and impactful fundraisers. From unique gatherings to charitable campaigns, we’ve been proud to celebrate the cannabis community with you. Let’s recap the highlights that made this year unforgettable.
Bringing the Community Together Through Events
This year, nuEra hosted and participated in some truly special events that brought people together to celebrate cannabis culture and beyond:
- Tailgate N’ Tallboys: nuEra was the very first Cannabis sponsor of this yearly Central Illinois Country Music Festival.
- Bucktown Buds: A fun-filled event in Bucktown, Chicago, featuring live music, local vendors, and exclusive nuEra deals. It was the perfect opportunity to connect with our community and enjoy a day of entertainment.
- Pups in the Parking Lot: A paw-some gathering for pet lovers and cannabis enthusiasts! This family-friendly pet adoption event celebrated and supported Pekin’s Local No Kill Animal Shelter.
Making a Difference Through Fundraisers
At nuEra, giving back is central to our mission. This year, we organized several impactful fundraisers that made a real difference:
- Juneteenth: For this Holiday we introduced our nuEra customers and community to the Southshore Chamber of Commerce, and raised funds for their important initiatives on the South Side of Chicago
- Pride!: 2024 was the third year in a row that nuEra ran a fundraiser for the Howard Brown Health Center, a mainstay in the health and support organizations for the LGBTQ+ community in Illinois and Midwest.
- Breast Cancer Awareness: nuEra’s longest running fundraiser! This year we donated $1 for every Breast Cancer Awareness branded nuEra pre-roll and Doobies For Boobies wristband purchased at dispensaries around Illinois to Gilda’s Club
- Season of Giving: In collaboration with the Center for Prevention of Abuse (CFPA) and Between Friends Chicago, we raised awareness about their important missions and enabled nuEra customers to donate directly at our sales terminals during the holiday season.
- Veterans Day Fundraiser: As well as donating 5% of all purchases made by Veterans at nuEra dispensaries in the entire month of August, we also proudly donated 5% of sales from our nuEra House of Brands to the Balanced Veterans Network, supporting the mental health and well-being of veterans.
